Emerging regional plan consultation
11th January 2022
Event date: 17 January 2022, 10:00 to 11:30
Alongside our partners in the other regional water resources groups, we are consulting on our emerging draft regional plan from 17 January 2022.
National Webinar 17 January from 10:00 until 11:30
On 17 January, we’re taking part in a webinar with colleagues from regulators, the water resources national framework, regional water resources groups and representatives from the water sector, trade associations, environmental organisations and consumer bodies. This webinar focuses on the national picture, so won’t be going into detail about any of the regional plans.
The session will be opened by Jean Spencer, Chair of the National Framework, who’ll provide a reminder of the work done so far, and the role of the national framework.
Jean will be followed by David Dangerfield, Director of Water, Land and Biodiversity at the Environment Agency who will share the EA’s perspective on the importance of regional planning in securing long-term sustainable supplies and the role of environmental ambition in developing the plans.
Paul Hickey, Managing Director at RAPID, will give his perspective on regional planning, what it means in practice and an overview of RAPID’s role in enabling new infrastructure.
This will be followed by each regional group sharing the headlines from their plans and a Q&A with our speakers and representatives from large water using sectors, consumer bodies and regional chairs.
I hope you’re able to join us as we mark this important milestone. For more information, and to register for the webinar complete this online form.
WCWRG Regional plan briefing session 19 January 10:00 until 11:00
In addition to the national launch, we’d also like to invite you to a separate briefing relating specifically to the West Country Water Resources Plan. This briefing will be an opportunity for us to share our plan with you and to update you on specifics relating to our region. This will include further detail on our supply and demand options, an update on the focus catchment work and details on how you can feedback on the plan.
The session will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams and we would be really pleased if you could spare the time to join us.
Please let Holly Corns know if you would like to attend.
